Viruses are becoming a nightmare yet purchasing a simple antivirus can save you a lot of headache. Viruses are designed to force you to part with your money. You pc may give you warnings saying ” click here to remove viruses” it then gives you a link to a dodgy website and asks you to put in your credit card details, im amazed or should i say shocked at the amount of customers I have seen that have fell for this scam hopefully this blog well help customers not to fall for it.
If you do have a virus the best thing to do is back up all your data. Dont worry the chances are quite small of backing up the virus as 95 percent of viruses will only attack the operating system and not the photos or documents. Windows update is a very good utility built into microsoft windows. Its not always a good idea to use it though. Why? If you have a legitimate licenced windows and microsoft office you should always do windows update. If you use a pirate version of office and believe it or not around 50% of the laptops that come to our workshop do, its best not to update windows.
You may even have to reload windows if you do. At laptop repairs in docklands the company can help to do this.
If you update windows and you have a fake version of office, the update will mess up your operating system. Also if you use a unknown program and windows performs an update there is a chance that windows will update then after the update, the computer will reboot and may not even boot to windows. Updates are good but only if the whole system is using licenced software, and well known programs.

If you move your laptop and it switches off this can be a very severe problem. In many cases it is caused by bad contact on the motherboard. There are hundreds of capacitors diodes and so on with motherboards and sometimes these chips can develop bad contact if the motherboard is bent. Imagine your laptop has a large screen, you pick your laptop up with one hand this can bend the board causeing a short and the laptop will cut off. This sometimes happens on the small Sony vaio laptops, they are carried around like a phone and develop bad contact inside the intel chipset. You may need a sony Laptop repair service. The fix for this is to find the bad contact (very difficult) and to cover the whole area with flux and heat up to 500 degrees. This will usually fix the problem.

A hard disk is more likely to break than a motherboard. Look at the image of a motherboard. Where are the moving parts?. Theres the fan thats moving. There are no other moving parts. What would you expect to break first?. Why should a chip blow ? Resisters and fusus and capacitors are there to control the current. So the most likely part to fail is the fan. The motherboard has a cable called a sata cable that connects to the hard disk. The hard disk really moves fast. In some cases it spins at 10,000 revolutions every minute. This is the reason they fail, they are doing all the hard work while the motherboard just sits still passing information around the bus. This can sometimes occur on Samsung laptops. On a laptop you may have a problem not with the charger but with the power connector pin. Sometimes the laptop cable is yanked by a child or the laptop is dropped on the pin. Then check your power pin and cord.

These power connector pins sometimes break off and you are left with a hole where there was a pin for your adapter to connect to.
